SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) -

His criminal history includes a conviction for manslaughter,  rape, threatening to kill a judge, failing to register as a sex offender, and grand theft, but now George John Golliver faces charges in Rowan County.

According to a report with the Rowan Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to a home at 134 Tryon Road in Rockwell on Thursday afternoon about a disturbance.

When Deputy A. Goodman arrived, Laura Trexler and Mike Golliver told him that George John Golliver had pointed a gun at them.

The arrest warrant states that George Golliver assaulted Michael Golliver by pointing a 20 gauge Revelation Model 350 short barrel shotgun at him.  The warrant also states that George Golliver verbally threatened to kill Michael Golliver.

George Golliver is also charged with communicating threats against Trexler.  In the arrest warrant it states Golliver told Trexler that he was going to "punch her in the face and kick her a**."

There were additional charges related to the deputies interaction with Golliver.  When Deputy Goodman first arrived at the house and was approached by Golliver, Goodman asked him if he had any weapons.  According to the report, Golliver said no, but when Goodman searched him, he found a large Bowie knife under his shirt.

When the knife was discovered, Golliver told Goodman that he had forgotten about it, then he ran away.  Goodman chased Golliver, repeatedly told him to stop, then used the taser to subdue him.

Deputies searched the home after Golliver was detained, and according to the search warrant, they found a sawed off shotgun under the mattress of the bed, and a shotgun shell was found in a bedroom drawer.

Golliver is also a convicted sex offender. In 1990 Golliver was convicted of criminal sexual conduct in the 2nd Degree in the state of New York.

Investigators say along with the sex offense conviction, Golliver threatened to kill a judge in Michigan in 1990, killed a woman in California, raped a Michigan woman and bit of one of her fingers and a part of one of her breasts and failed to register as a sex offender when he moved to North Carolina.

Golliver is currently charged with resisting police, communicating threats, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon by a felon, assault by pointing a gun, and possession of a weapon of mass destruction.  Bond is set at $42,500.
