Boone woman arrested by federal agents on drug charges

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A Boone woman was arrested by US Marshals on Thursday on charges of selling and distributing methamphetamine.

Frances Calhoun Yancey is charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, manufacturing, selling and distributing methamphetamine, according to the news release from the US Marshals Service.

A joint investigation by U.S. Marshals and the Watauga County Sheriff's Office revealed that Yancey was living in Boone. 

As officers approached the home, Yancey barricaded herself inside, but after approximately two hours, she surrendered to authorities. 

Yancey was ultimately arrested and confined in the Watauga County Jail, pending court proceedings.
