Police: Man's body found near business in west Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Police in Charlotte say they are working a death investigation in west Charlotte.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklebburg Police Department, the investigation is underway along the 2400 block of Chamberlain Avenue.  Officers were called to the scene around 11:08 a.m. Thursday morning.

From WBTV's helicopter, Sky 3, the investigation is underway near a business called Caraustar Fiber.

According to the company's website, Caraustar is one of North America's largest integrated manufacturers of 100% recycled paperboard and converted paperboard products. 

Officers say the body of a man was found on the property, but the cause of death is not known. 

Detectives with the Homicide/ADW Unit are currently canvassing the area to determine whether there are any witnesses to this incident.  The investigation is in its early stages.
