Titans fans offer new coach advice on how to improve team

The last few seasons have been tough for the Tennessee Titans, so many fans are hoping new head coach Ken Whisenhunt has what it takes to turn things around.

And while you don't hear people tell doctors how to perform a surgery, or even tell their plumber how to fix the sink, when it comes to football and fixing the Titans, it seems everyone has an opinion.

"Need to go to a spread offense," said Titans fan Jerome Boyd. "Four wide receivers, move Chris [Johnson], more action. I'm tired of same run, run, pass."

"If we could get a few more blockers in on the offensive side, I think [quarterback Jake Locker] and Chris Johnson could have a big year next year," said fan Adam Boone.

"Double, triple-threat quarterbacks help a lot. They can make a play happen out of nothing," said fan David Pelton.

On the streets of Nashville Tuesday, the general idea seemed to be more emotion and more fire.

"We don't have that winning spirit now. I'd like to see that again. The town rallies around it, and it would be nice to have here in Nashville," said fan Maren Scoggins.

"I want the coach to come in and be so motivated and have the attitude that 'We're gonna win.' I think when you have somebody who motivates you, you want to work hard for them," said fan Kim Bishop.

Whisenhunt has head coaching experience and actually led the Arizona Cardinals to Super Bowl XLIII after a team record 12-win season in 2008.
