Gaston County Police have arrested Brandon Lee Bowles in connection with a series of car break-ins that occurred over the holidays.

Bowles targeted women's purses left in unlocked vehicles, many while parked at area daycares, while parents were inside dropping off their children, according to the news release from the Gaston County Police.

Bowles was released from prison in September, was on probation for breaking and entering of motor vehicles, and was wearing an ankle monitor at the time of the crimes.

Investigators have linked Bowles to at least 17 vehicle break-ins that began in October, 2013 and occurred across Gaston County including Cherryville, Kings Mountain, Bessemer City, Gastonia, Dallas, Stanley, and Belmont.

Gaston County Police are working with investigators from those agencies as well as the NC Division of Community Corrections and additional charges are forthcoming.
