Panthers fans positive after playoff loss

Posted: Updated:

After the Panthers fell to the 49ers in Sunday's playoff game, fans in the Panther nation were surprisingly positive. A feeling that only bodes well for the fan base and the team next season.

"My heart's broken but not forever because we're going to be back!" shouted Beth Maust on her way out of the game.

As panthers fans poured out of Bank of America stadium, many wore smiles and still cheered for a team without a tomorrow.

"We were looking forward to going to New York, the super bowl," said Cory Williams. "There's always next year."

Williams watched the game alongside his son.

"We started off good," said Williams. "Right before halftime we let them get the momentum... we couldn't put it in. Second half wasn't our half."

Even after falling apart, fans agree what happens next is more important for this Panthers team.

"We took a big step today from the last few years so it's exciting," said one fan. "Got to have a positive attitude. Those guys left it on the field."

Decked out in his own panther pride creation from head to toe, John Williams is also staying positive.

"We're still number 1," said Williams. "They came a long way and showed us that they can get there. This year we did great to make the playoffs but guess what next year it's the Super Bowl."
