Two arrested for Lenoir break-in

LENOIR, NC (WBTV) -

Police in Lenoir have charged two men with stealing batteries from a local electric company.

The incident was reported on Jan. 9 at 8:12 a.m. on the 1300 block of College Avenue, according to the news release from the Lenoir Police Department.

Timothy Blain Chaney Jr., 35, of Lenoir, is charged with felony larceny and poss session of stolen goods.

Eric Allen Crowe, 25, of Lenoir, is charged with felony breaking and entering, larceny, possession of stolen goods.

Officers spotted a vehicle parked behind the Aldred Electric building with Chaney and Crowe inside.

Officers learned that Crowe had went inside the building and taken 32 railroad batteries. Chaney then helped him load some of the batteries into their vehicle, according to the release.

The total value of the stolen batteries was $16,000. 

Chaney received a $9,000 secured bond while Crowe received a $20,000 secured bond.
