One Carolina Panthers football player is especially excited about playing in Sunday's game. 305 pound Guard Geoff Hangartner is getting a third chance at being a Panthers player.
Hangartner has been cut twice. The latest one happened during last year's training camp. Due to other players' injuries, he was called back.
"I was out for the first eight weeks of the season," Hangartner said. "And the opportunity came up to come back here and be part of this team again and I jumped on it and I couldn't be happier."
The time away made his heart grow fonder for what he does.
"Back doing what I love to do," Hangartner said. "And really all I have known for the last nine years of my life. It's fun to be back with the guys. I have a lot of great friends on the team, so it's fun to be back and see the team have some success."
Hangartner feels good about Sunday's big game and is grateful he has another chance to show what he can do out on the gridiron.
"I think I need to perfect my role," Hangartner said. "Whatever that may be for this game. Do my role at the best of my ability and if everybody on the team does that I think we will be successful."
The Panthers play the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday.
