One Arctic blast, already tracking another

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Lows dropped into the teens across the area Saturday morning, and as cold as those temperatures were, a second Arctic front moves in early next week bringing even colder temperatures to the forecast.

Saturday's low hit 15° in Charlotte, with single digit readings in many locations in the North Carolina mountains.

After a brief warmup and an increase in rain chances, an even stronger front pushes through Monday morning. Many commuters may be heading to work in the rain. Snow is in the forecast in the higher elevations.

Once the Arctic air mass is firmly in place, lows could drop to single digits across most of the WBTV viewing area Tuesday morning, and highs are not expected to climb above the freezing mark that day.
