*Cold snap!! We have live team coverage of what the conditions are like in and around Charlotte. We already know it's causing airports delays, possibly cancellations depending on where you're going. Also, snow is falling in the mountain counties. Astrid Martinez and Kristen Hampton are setting up for live reports now.

*There are school delays and closures to report for Friday, January 3:

CLOSED: Ashe, Avery and Mitchell County Schools

DELAYED: Alleghany County Schools - 2 hours; Mayland Community College will open at 10 a.m.

*Speaking of cold - are you nursing an actual cold this morning. You have to hear about the recent influx of flu cases in North Carolina. There's a fresh warning from officials to get the flu shot.

*We're also learning this morning a church fire in Kannapolis was deliberately set. The damage left only cinder block walls standing.
