Residents displaced after east Charlotte apartment fire

Firefighters in east Charlotte are investigating the cause of a two alarm apartment fire Tuesday morning that left a family displaced from their apartment.

The fire was called in at 8:03 a.m. at an apartment complex off of the 5800 block of Monroe Road, according to the Charlotte Fire Department. That's near the intersection with Rama Road.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and fire coming from one of the buildings. They had the fire under control in 13 minutes.

No injuries were reported.
