A big national story that we're following this morning...residents in a town about 25 miles from Fargo, North Dakota are being urged to evacuate their homes right now following a train derailment that led to a huge fireball. The train was carrying crude oil, and emergency workers are concerned about the effects of the smoke created by the fire and explosion.
One person is recovering after being shot in Northeast Charlotte. It happened on Rockwell Boulevard near Theresa Elder Park.
Another court date has been set for De'Angelo Bradley. He was in court Monday, to face charges that he carjacked a woman last Friday, crashed into an uptown Charlotte building, then hid from police for hours. A judge yesterday decided to keep Bradley's bond at 50-thousand dollars and he remains in jail this morning.
We have an important health alert for you this morning about the flu season...another person in North Carolina has died from the flu. Doctors are urging everyone to get a flu shot this season.
Plenty of sports to talk about! Trey Burke beat the shot clock on a driving layup with 19 seconds left and scored 21 points to power the Utah Jazz past the Charlotte Bobcats 83-80 on Monday night. Gerald Henderson had 19 points and Al Jefferson and Walker both scored 18 in the Bobcats' first stop of a four-game Western Conference swing.
