Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are asking for the public's help in finding Savannah man who's wanted in connection with a fatal shooting.
Police said Maurice Jamar Bentley, 31, is wanted on charges in the death of Michael John Polite, 38, on Dec. 24. Polite, a father of four, was shot dead in the 800 block of Elliott Avenue.
Bentley, 31, is described as a black male whose about 5'10" and 145 lbs. with a thin build. Police said he is a registered sex offender and was last known to have longer length braided or corn-rowed hair. He may have cut it.
Police said Bentley should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone with information on Bentley's location can call 911 or the Violent Crimes office at 912.525.3124 immediately.
