An area of low pressure that originated in the Gulf of Mexico is tracking up the East Coast, bringing heavy rain to the Carolinas.
Sunday morning, pockets of heavy rain were falling across the entire WBTV viewing area, with over an inch of rain already reported in most areas by 6:00 a.m.
Another inch could come down before the rain exits to the East around noon. Widespread flooding is not forecast, but ponding on the roadways will increase the risk of hydroplaning.
