Early morning fire destroys tire company in Rock Hill

Fire investigators are looking into a blaze that destroyed a tire company in Rock Hill on Friday morning.

According to the Rock Hill Fire Department, firefighters were called to the Rock Hill Tire Company shortly before 3 a.m. Friday morning. The company is located on Albright Road.

Rock Hill Fire Chief Rusty Myers said flames could be seen coming from the roof.

Firefighters worked for 40 minutes to contain a blaze, which destroyed the business.

The fire briefly shut down roads. but they have since been reopened.

WBTV spoke with the property manager of the building next door, who said both businesses have been around since the 1950's and they have never experienced anything like this before.

Utility crews were also called to the scene as some power lines were temporally shut down, due to the fire.

No injuries have been reported but the building has been deemed a total loss. Investigators are still trying to determine a cause.
