CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Glenn McConnell has been reopened after police say an investigating into a bomb threat at a West Ashley Goodwill came up empty.

Officials say a male called a bomb threat in to Goodwill, located at 3516 Shelby Ray Court off Glenn McConnell Parkway at 11:08 a.m.

According to Charles Francis with the Charleston Police Department, authorities did not find anything at the store, but will continue their investigating into the threat.

Police shut down Glenn McConnell Parkway between Magwood Drive and Bees Ferry Road while a bomb squad searched the building. Glenn McConnell has since been reopened.

The road closures caused traffic nightmares throughout West Ashley.

According to the Charleston County School District Facebook page, West Ashley High School has began its dismissal process with help from the Charleston Police Department. Students were originally scheduled to be dismissed at 2:15 p.m., but were held due to road closures.

CEO and president of Goodwill Industries of Lower SC released the following statement:

"At approximately 11:08, the staff at the Goodwill Store located on Glen McConnell Parkway received a call which was a bomb threat.  The Goodwill Management team acted quickly and immediately evacuated the store and called 911 to report the threat.  The Charleston Police Department and Bomb Squad reacted quickly and closed off the surrounding areas and searched the store and grounds.  While the Police Department did not find evidence of explosives, we are grateful to their prompt action and the added measures taken to ensure the staff, donors and customers the facility were safe.  We are extremely pleased in how the Goodwill Management Staff followed Goodwill procedures regarding bomb threats and the swift action taken to ensure the safety of the customers, donors and staff.  The Goodwill's  Loss Prevention Team  will be working with the Charleston Police to provide any information that may help in the investigation of this threat."
