Police investigating Ballantyne bank robbery

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Police in Charlotte are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a man they say robbed a Ballantyne bank Wednesday.

The robbery happened at 10:30 a.m. at the Bank of America on Golf Links Drive.

According to police, a man wearing a ski mask jumped the counter and demanded money from the tellers. He did not show a weapon.

The man is described as a black male, approximately 5'10", weighing about 230 pounds. He was wearing a dark ski mask and gloves.

Police said he left the scene in a small black, four-door car with what appeared to be a North Carolina license plate.
