Trees were donated to families in need on Saturday afternoon in Charlotte.
The Mission Team from Independence Hill Baptist Church in Huntersville teamed up with the Hyaets Ministry in Enderly Park to distribute free Christmas Trees to families in need.
For the third year in a row, Phillips Tree Farm in Ashe County donated the trees.
Neighbors received tree stands and smoke detectors courtesy of the Charlotte Fire Fighters Association.
The Hyaets are full-time urban missionaries who minister to the spiritual needs of their West Charlotte neighbors, teaching life skills, tutoring school children and offering weekly meals to the residents around the Tuckaseegee Road community.
