Police: 67 charges at DWI checkpoint

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says 67 people were charged in Friday night's DWI checking station.

Police set up the checkpoint in the 9300 block of South Boulevard from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m.

CMPD says there was 12 DWI charges, three drug charges, and four open container charges.

Police say 24 people were charged with no operator's license and 5 people were charged with driving with a revoked licence.

CMPD set up the checking station with the Pineville Police Department and the Matthews Police Department.

The breath testing bus was on the site of the checking station.
