Tracking winter weather

Hi everyone, this is Paul Cameron in the WBTV Newsroom, getting the mukluks ready for this week's weather.

Eric Thomas is looking at a very messy next 48 hours. Heavy rain is predicted tomorrow from a storm system that may turn into freezing rain and/or snow.

The rain is exactly what firefighters need to douse the last vestiges of the Table Rock fire in Linville Gorge. It is nearly contained, but authorities are still looking for a young man in a white pickup truck who may know something about how the wildfire started.

One year after the horrible massacre at Sandy Hook elementary school, the shooter's motive is still unclear-- that's the findings from Connecticut state officials. The investigation does point out that 20-year old Adam Lanza had an obsession with mass murder and violent video games.

We'll get a Sky3 view of Speedway Christmas tonight. Charlotte Motor Speedway is set to turn on its lights for the season.

And its rivalry week in college football. We're checking in on what rabid fans are doing before the big Clemson and South Carolina game.

Please join Maureen O'Boyle, Eric Thomas and me for WBTV News at 5:00 in just a few minutes!
