Sheriff: Kenny Miles receiving out-of-state care

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Former Gamecock running back Kenny Miles is currently receiving out-of-state care and remains uncharged in connection with an early November incident, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department.

Miles was found on Nov. 4 lying in the doorway of his vehicle in a business park near Irmo. He had suffered a gunshot wound to his arm. The 23-year-old told authorities that he had been the victim of an attempted robbery.

However, according to Sheriff Leon Lott, Miles shot himself in the arm in the incident and will be charged with filing a false police report.

Lott says Miles has yet to be arrested or charged in the incident. The sheriff said he hopes the courts rule that Miles is responsible for paying the department back for its time and effort in investigating the false robbery report.
