Boone man facing 19 charges after witness call about vehicle B&E, police say

BOONE, NC (WBTV) -

A Boone man was arrested on 19 charges after a witness saw him breaking into a vehicle at a local restaurant, according to the Boone Police Department.

On November 12, police responded to the reported breaking and entering call at the Chili's on Blowing Rock Road after a witness saw a man break into a vehicle behind the restaurant.

The man, later identified as 33-year-old Jonathan Matthew Lee, then went to the parking lot of Walmart where he was found and arrested by officers. 

Lee was charged with six counts of felonious breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, four counts of larceny, two counts of attempted breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, felonious financial card theft, two counts of financial card fraud, tampering with a motor vehicle, driving while impaired, possession of an open malt beverage by a driver, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was taken to the Watauga County Detention Center and placed under a $15,000 secured bond pending a December 19 court appearance.
