Geekfest brings proud Poindexters to CPCC

MATTHEWS, NC (WBTV) - It's the 10th time Central Piedmont Community College has hosted a technology and innovation gathering called simply, Geekfest.

"Being able to help other people use and benefit from technology. That's what geeks do," said Adam Brooks, co-organizer of the event, "we create it, we support it and we try to just create a better environment for everyone using technology."

Being called a geek used to be an insult, now it is considered among most, a compliment.

Because the "geeks" of the world are designing, building, and making the technology that is saving lives. They're creating things to make life easier.
