BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Elections officials in Bladen County have completed the recount of votes cast in the race for Commissioner in the town of Dublin.

According to Gina Ward, the Assistant Deputy Director of Elections, the recount produced no change in the votes, resulting in a one-vote victory for Jeffrey Smith over challenger Tommy Thompson, 44 to 43. Thompson had asked for a recount, which took place at the elections office Wednesday at 2 p.m.

It's the only race to go to a recount in Bladen County, but it's not the only close race among the municipalities. In East Arcadia, Lillian Graham edged Perry Blanks for commissioner by two votes, 47-45. The Clarkton commissioner's race was decided by a single vote, with Jason Lewis getting 26 votes to Tim Tart's total of 25 votes.

In the town of Tar Heel, a write-in candidate will be the third commissioner. Sam Allen and Angie Hall finished with 23 votes apiece to take the first two spots. Derek J. Druzak received 10 of the 16 write-in votes and has accepted the position as the third town commissioner.
