The search is on for a hit and run driver in northwest Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - One person is in the hospital but expected to survive after apparently being hit by a vehicle, near a fuel station in Northwest Charlotte. The driver of the vehicle did not stop and is being sought Sunday morning.

Police roped off an area of Mount Holly Road around 2:30 Sunday morning. The incident happened on the 8000 block, in front of a Marathon fuel station used by tanker trucks.

One side of the two lane road was shut down for about an hour while police investigated.
