TODAY: Teachers wearing red today for peaceful protest

Good morning! It's Christine Nelson checking in. Today is Monday, November 4. I know you just picked up your cell phone to check your emails. I'll make this a quick look at the top headlines we're covering on WBTV News This Morning from 4:30-7:00 a.m.

HAPPENING TODAY: Teachers protesting before school

Did you know some teachers are planning a protest today? It's all to show their displeasure for Governor McCrory and the decisions he and the legislature have made on behalf of teachers. WBTV's Cam Man Ron Lee has specifics on what some teachers are unhappy about and whether today's "walk-in" (as they called it) will affect your child getting to school on time today.

We have the latest on the condition of former Carolina Panthers Coach John Fox. You may have heard over the weekend about his health scare. He is still in Charlotte and will have to undergo surgery right away. We have details on what doctors are trying to fix.

LIVE: A woman was found with severe head injuries, lying in the middle of a local highway. We'll tell you why officials are having such a hard time nailing down what caused her injuries.

Plus... since the Jonathan Ferrell autopsy and toxicology reports became public, CMPD Chief Rodney Monroe continues to answer questions about officer training.

This is nuts! Why would someone steal $400,000 worth of walnuts?!
