Officials: Fire in Hickory Walmart intentionally set, suspect caught on camera

HICKORY, NC (WBTV) -

Firefighters responded to a small fire at a Walmart on Highway 70 around 1:34 a.m. Saturday morning, according to the Hickory Fire Department.

The fire was in the clothing department and smoke was in the store, firefighters on scene reported.

Officials from the Hickory Fire Department said a customer and store employees used a fire extinguisher to contain the fire. Firefighters then made sure the fire was extinguished, and used fans to remove smoke from the store.

Catawba County EMS and Hickory Police Department also responded to the incident. 

Investigators say the fire was intentionally set, and have released security pictures of a person they'd like to talk to regarding the case.
