One person was killed and another seriously injured in a southwest Charlotte accident, according to Medic.
The accident happened just after 3 p.m. near the intersection of West Tyvola Road and Yorkmont Road.
Kendei Ramirez, 27, was driving a 2001 Ford Escape on West Tyvola Road, just after the intersection of Yorkmont Road when he attempted to make an illegal U-turn across the double-yellow line, police told WBTV.
Ramirez' vehicle was then struck by a 2005 Ford F-150 being driven by a A 55-year-old man.
Medic responded to the scene and pronounced Ramirez deceased at the scene.
The 55-year-old driver was taken to Carolina's Medical Center with minor injuries.
