GASTON COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -

Three people were arrested after tying up a homeowner during a robbery. Police say the trio meant to rob an acquaintance of drugs, but went to the wrong address.

On October 29, just after 9 p.m., the Gaston County Police Department responded to a home on King Arthur Drive in reference to a home invasion.

According to police, three people entered the house armed with handguns and bound the victim. The trio went to the home to rob the individuals of marijuana, but realized they had gone to the wrong address.

They were acquaintances of a family member of the victim, however, and took his personal belongings and left the residence.

The victim was then able to get free of the bonds and called 911.

A Gaston County Police Canine Unit was en route to the scene when he saw a suspicious vehicle in the area and stopped it to investigate. While speaking with the occupants, he noticed items and clothing described in the home invasion call.

The suspicious vehicle then sped off and a pursuit ensued down Lowell Bethesda Road to the intersection of Westover Road, where the vehicle ran off the road and crashed.

The three in the car were not injured, and were taken into custody without incident.

Eric Jerome Sykes, 25, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, robbery with dangerous weapon, first degree kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, robbery with dangerous weapon (conspiracy), first degree burglary, resist public officer, and flee to elude arrest.

He was given a $1 million bond.

Johnny Jederrian Nichols, 23, was charged with first degree burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and robbery with dangerous weapon (conspiracy).

Nichol's bond was set at $750,000.

Erika Renee Grice, 20, was also arrested. She was charged with first degree burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and robbery with dangerous weapon (conspiracy).

She was given a $500,000 bond.
