Tuesday is National Cat Day

National Cat Day

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The field might be pretty evenly balanced between cat lovers and dog lovers, but Tuesday the felines have the advantage.

"National Cat Day was founded in 2005 by Pet Lifestyle Expert & Animal Welfare Advocate Colleen Paige to help galvanize the public to recognize the number of cats that need to be rescued each year." according to the website www.nationalcatday.com

We found the day being recognized and celebrated right here in Charlotte at CMPD's Animal Care and Control with all feline adoption fees being reduced to $5 for the day on Tuesday.

While many people would call a feline their best friend before Fido, we found at least one person who doesn't get what all the buzz over whiskers is all about.

Check out the story to see why National Cat Day is so important. And for the rest of October, Animal Care and Control is offering cat or dog adoptions for just $31 to potential adoptees who bring cat or dog treats.
