Police: Motorcyclist killed while trying to pass car on double yellow lines

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department say 46-year-old Kevin Denard Linton, Sr. was killed when his motorcycle struck a utility pole this morning just before 1 a.m.

A witness said the motorcycle ran off the left side of Capps Hill Mine Road as it was passing a car on a double yellow line on a curve.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, but was pronounced dead by MEDIC on scene.
