WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A Canadian-born high pressure system will bring continued dry and chilly weather to the area through the weekend.
* The National Weather Service continues a Freeze Warning (purple on the map) for Bladen, Columbus, and inland Pender Counties for Friday night into early Saturday morning. *
* The National Weather Service continues a Frost Advisory (blue on the map) for inland New Hanover and inland Brunswick Counties for Friday night into early Saturday morning. *
FRIDAY NIGHT: Expect clear skies, light winds and cold low temperatures mainly 30 - 36 inland and mainly 36 - 42 close to the coast. Take care to shelter sensitive plants, etc.
WEEKEND: After Saturday's cold start, expect a cool finish with highs near 62 despite sun. Sunday will start quite chilly, too, but sunshine should allow afternoon temperatures to recover to near 67.
NEXT WEEK: A warming trend! With continued sunny or partly sunny days, expect afternoons to rebound into the 70s for the final days of October.
TROPICAL OUTLOOK: The remnants of Tropical depression Lorenzo has a twenty percent chance of redevelopment over the next few days but it remains no threat to land.
