CONCORD, NC (WBTV) -

NASCAR driver Jennifer Jo Cobb has asked that criminal charges against Camping World Truck Series driver Mike Harmon and David Novak be dropped.

The request came Thursday evening, just six days before Harmon and Novak's next scheduled court hearing on October 30.

Harmon and Novak were charged in May and June for allegedly stealing Cobb's race trailer, vehicles, and other equipment.

"After much discussion with my legal counsel I have decided that upon the conclusion of the civil matters, I would like to be finished with any further connections to these parties and events," Cobb stated in a release Thursday.

She continued, "To endure an ongoing criminal case would simply be counterproductive to my moving on and the 2014 race season."

There is no word yet whether the October 30 hearing will still take place in light of Cobb's request.
