Police trying to ID trio that stole 21 smartphones from Walmart

GASTONIA, NC (WBTV) - Gastonia Police are asking for the public's help in identifying three people they believe to be involved in a larceny at a local Walmart.

The incident occurred between 2 and 3 a.m. on September 23 at the Walmart on E. Franklin Boulevard.

Police say two men and a woman were caught on surveillance video when 21 smart phones, with a total retail value of $14,150, were stolen from the electronics department. The stolen phones included the Samsung Galaxy S4 & S3, the HTC One, and the iPhone 4S.

The female is described as 5'4" and 140 pounds with straight black shoulder length hair. She was wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans.

One of the males is described as heavy set, about 6'3" and 300 pounds. He was wearing a black head wrap, gray t-shirt and black cargo style sweat pants.

The second male is 6'2" and weighs approximately 220 pounds. He had hair on his chin, and was wearing a black T-shirt, black pants, and a light colored baseball cap.
