Burglar arrested after homeowners find him in home, police say

A Boone man was arrested on breaking and entering charges after a homeowner found him in their home, according to the Boone Police Department.

On Monday, October 7, just after 1:30 p.m., Police responded to Creekside Lane for a report of a breaking and entering in progress.

Officers say the homeowner had returned home to find an intruder inside. The intruder, later identified as Jonathon Glenn Pleasant, 25, ran out the back door as the homeowner entered.

Pleasant then struck the homeowner's vehicle as he left the scene in his own vehicle.

Responding officers located the vehicle and Pleasant at the end of Chase Hill Drive. Pleasant was taken into custody without incident.

He was charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, and misdemeanor hit and run.

He was taken to the Watauga County Detention Center, placed under a $10,000 secured bond, and given a November 21, court date.
