High pressure overhead has really brought out the sunshine and cranked up the temperatures across the Carolinas today.
While certainly not considered outside the range of "normal" temperatures are forecast to climb several degrees above the 30 year average of 76 for the first day of October.
Temperatures will climb higher as we move further into the week and some areas could see readings as high as the upper 80s to near 90.
Highs come back down with our next front, slated to move in early next week. That front brings with it the potential for thunderstorms late this weekend.
The Climate Prediction Center forecasts equal chances for warmer than normal or cooler than normal temperatures for the month of October.
