CMPD: Pedestrian hit and killed Sunday morning

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A woman was hit and killed about 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of Parkwood Avenue and The Plaza according to police.

Curtina Tyrone Audrey was pronounced dead on the scene by MEDIC.

Detectives said Audrey was not in the crosswalk during the time of the crash.

Audrey was stuck by a 2003 Mitsubishi was traveling on Parkwood Avenue while she was walking in the intersection according to police.

The driver was not speeding and was not using alcohol.

Police said alcohol use by the pedestrian is suspected.

The crash remains under investigation by the CMPD Major Crash Investigation Unit.
