Football coach, two players suspended from high school game


The head coach of Forestview High School's football team, and two players, will miss Friday night's game after they were temporarily suspended from the team.

According to the Gaston County School district, head coach Chris Medlin is has been suspended from Friday night's game against Lake Norman Charter.

Medlin along with two of Forestview's players will also miss the game.

Chris Medlin is also an AP Psychology teacher at the school, where he has taught for five years, according to the school's website. He was not suspended from his teaching duties just from coaching.

He's been in education for 14 years, the schools website states.

It's unclear why coach Medlin and the players have been suspended.

A spokeswoman for the school system told WBTV she cannot discuss the reason for the coach's suspension.
