A paralyzed murder suspect from a shooting in North Fairmount appeared in court Thursday for the first time.
Shane Hooper, 26, has been charged with murder in the death of Lionel Phillips dating back to an incident last April on Baker Avenue. Phillips was found dead in a parking lot. A second suspect was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in serious condition.
Investigators later identified Hooper as the second person shot in the incident and has since been receiving medical treatment.
A second suspect, 27-year-old Ronald Williams, was previously arrested on weapons charges.
Hooper's bond was set at $5,000 due to his condition. Should he post bail, court documents indicate he'll be under house arrest.
