Neighborhood wants west Charlotte nightclub gone

Good morning! It's Wednesday, September 25. This is Christine Nelson clocking in for the morning! I wanted to personally send you an email to encourage you to tune in this morning and let us help get your day started!! We have a lot of stories to cover between 4:30 and 7:00 a.m.

A west Charlotte nightclub is back in the news this morning. We're talking about Club 935, which was the subject of a community meeting last night. The club has been the scene of multiple shootings, one of them fatal. Homeowners at this meeting say they want the club gone! We were there for it and heard from the club's owner. Hear why he's saying not so fast to the idea of the club shutting down.

Also this morning. We're following all of the latest developments out of Kenya related to the mall attack. Kenya's president has declared an end to the four-day siege on militants. Today officials will be recovering bodies from the mall, after three floors collapsed.

Plus...a major update this morning on an unsafe Charlotte intersection. You may remember the incident where a Garinger High School student was hit and killed by a vehicle last year while crossing the street. We'll show you what officials are planning to add to make things safer for pedestrians.
