Kannapolis man charged with convenience store robbery

KANNAPOLIS, NC (WBTV) -

A Kannapolis man was charged with robbing a convenience store on Saturday night.

Johnathan Bo Bullington, 23, is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, according to a news release from the Kannapolis Police Department.

Police say Bullington used a knife to take an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register of the Lane Street Express Food Mart on Saturday.

The clerk reported the suspect was a white male armed with a knife. 

As officers were searching the area for the suspect, a white male matching the description of the suspect was spotted walking on Lane Street.

After further investigation, it was determined that this person, identified as Johnathan Bo Bullington was the person that committed the crime.

He was taken to the Cabarrus County Magistrates Office and given a $200,000 secured bond.
