Woman assaulted at uptown high-rise apartment building

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Police in Charlotte are investigating an assault at an uptown apartment building.

The incident was reported Wednesday at 2:54 a.m. at The Vue in uptown Charlotte on the 200 block of N. Pine Street, according to the report from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

A 27-year-old woman told police that she was robbed and assaulted by an unknown man while at The Vue.

The man slammed the woman's head into the floor and took her purse and other personal items, according to the report.

The woman was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with minor injuries.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned black male between 20-30 years old. He is approximately 5'9'' tall and 160 pounds. He was wearing baggy blue jeans and white sneakers. He had short dreads.
