McDonald's employee assaulted overnight in Fort Mill

An employee at the McDonald's on Carowinds Boulevard in Fort Mill was attacked Monday morning after his shift.

We're told it happened before 1 a.m.

The employee was sitting on the curb waiting for his ride when a man walked up and demanded money after asking for directions to Interstate 85.

He didn't have any, so deputies say the man hit him with a pair of channel locks.

The man then forced the employee behind the business where he made him lay down on the ground before jumping into a Dodge Durango. The SUV was driven by another man.

The victim is expected to be OK, deputies say. He was taken to CMC-Pineville for treatment.

Surveillance video from the McDonald's shows a white male with brown hair and a goatee escorting the employee around the business. He was wearing a blue t-shirt and black pants.

If you have any information in the case, you're asked to call the York County Crime Stoppers at 1-877-409-4321 .
