Hero's Welcome for Soldier


A Norwood man who survived the Fort Hood shooting massacre and got an official hero's welcome home Saturday.

Sergeant Matt Cooke was shot five times in the November 2009 attack.
Cooke was just a few feet away when Nidal Hassan started firing at Fort Hood.

On Saturday, more than 70 Patriot Guard motorcyclists escorted Cooke from Charlotte back home to the town of Norwood in Stanley County.

Sergeant Cook is planning to retire from the army in October.
