BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -

In less than 24 hours, the United Way of the Lowcountry will launch its annual fund-raising campaign.

But this year, things are a little different.

Each day of the year, the United Way of the Lowcountry works hard to make a difference in the lives of many.

One day of the year, they invite the public to help them continue to make that difference with their annual fund-raising campaign.

"It sets the whole momentum for the fundraising campaign and the campaign is so important to everything that we do. We actually raise money for 33 agencies and 44 programs," said Bethany Marcinkowski, director of Education Impact.

This year, the United Way of the Lowcountry is changing things up by adding a much larger, scenic venue combined with some Grammy-nominated entertainment by singer-songwriter Karen Taylor Good.

They're hoping everyone will come join them for this great cause.

"It's more than just about fund-raising, it's really about seeing the way we make a difference in the community and that's what we think is special about the United Way and what we want to make different about this event. We really want to get the word out. We want to make it fun. We want to make it exciting," said Chris McCorkendale, board chairman of the United Way of the Lowcountry.

The United Way of the Lowcountry will also unveil its fund-raising goal, but everyone will have to wait to find out what it is.

The campaign kickoff will start 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Palmetto Bluff.
