GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Gas prices have dropped in South Carolina and they may go down even more, according to the gas pricing website GasBuddy.

The average price for a gallon of gasoline in South Carolina on Wednesday was $3.148, but some areas are seeing prices as low as $2.90 per gallon, a representative of GasBuddy said.

The price on Tuesday was down 44 cents from the same day last year, the site said. The price last year was $3.597 a gallon and it was $3.154 on Tuesday, a 14 percent difference, they said.

GasBuddy said that South Carolina saw the third biggest difference between last year and now of any state.

Michigan and Ohio were the only states that saw a bigger difference in price over the year.
