COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Students, faculty and visitors to the University of South Carolina are being urged to be on the lookout for suspicious activity following the report of an assault near the Strom Thurmond building on September 17.

A female reported to authorities that she was approached by a man who asked for directions around 8:30 p.m. near the parking lot.

As she was walking away, the suspect grabbed her inappropriately and then left the area, authorities said.

The subject is described as a Hispanic male in his thirties, with facial hair and a white hat. The suspect may also drive or have access to a dark in color older model Dodge Durango.

The USC Division of Law Enforcement and Safety and Crimestoppers released a sketch of the suspect hoping somebody might recognize him.

Members of the Carolina Community are encouraged to report suspicious persons or any related crime tips to Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC. To send anonymous tips via text or online, go to www.midlandscrimestoppers.com
