CLOVER, SC (WBTV) -

Police in Clover say a man is being held on attempted murder charges after another man was shot in the groin.

According to the Clover Police Department, officers were called to the 100-block of Queensgate in Clover on Friday to the report of a shooting.

When officers got to the scene, they were reportedly met by neighbors and family members who say a man had been shot. They led officers where he was sitting in a chair in the front yard.

Police say 22-year-old Warren Duvant was conscious at the time and had sustained an apparent gunshot wound to his groin.

Duvant told officers that he was shot by Aundraveious McDowell. He was then transported to Carolinas Medical Center-Main to receive treatment for his injuries.

Officers used a canine tracking team to track McDowell to a nearby home where they found him. McDowell was arrested and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

He was transported to the Moss Justice Center where he was served with warrants and will later receive a bond.
