New FFN Top 10 for Week 4

Posted: Updated:
CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

The votes are in and the top 10 is set for week 4 and for the 4th consecutive week, the same 10 are in the poll.  The order is a little different this week, but not at the top.

Northwestern is still the #1 team in the FFN Top 10 driven by Town and Country Ford, but they did not receive all the 1st place votes.  The Trojans would get 8 of the 9 first place votes with the other vote going to the #2 team Mallard Creek.

Butler is back in the top 5 at #5 after an impressive win over Greensboro Page this past Friday 56-14.  The Bulldogs will be tested in the next 2 weeks with 2 tough road games.  This Friday they are at Mount Tabor and next Friday, they are at Richmond Senior.

Charlotte Christian falls down a spot to #6.

Burns moved up 2 spots to #7 after a very impressive victory over previously unbeaten Freedom 24-6.

The team that took the biggest fall was South Caldwell.  The Spartan move from #7 to #9 in this week's poll.  South lost leading rusher Zac Pollard in week 2 to a knee injury and even though they beat Alexander Central 17-13 this past Friday, they still dropped 2 spots.

This week will be a big one in the top 10 as quite a few teams will be challenged this week.

#1 Northwestern host nationally ranked Byrnes at District 3 Stadium.

#2 Mallard Creek is at #8 Catholic.

#5 Butler is at 2-1 Mount Tabor.

#4 Independence host (3-0) West Meck on Thursday.

#7 Burns starts conference play at 2-0 Chase.

#10 Davidson Day is at (3-0) Harrells Christian.  The team the Patriots put 104 points on last season in a 104-80 win. Yes, Harrells scored 80 in a loss.  They certainly will be looking for some revenge.
