CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - CMPD is looking for a drug robber.
He stole $1,000 worth of pain killers from a pharmacy that has been a target before.
The Rite-Aid in southwest Charlotte at West Arrowood and South Tryon was robbed of drugs 15 months ago. At that time, two men were involved and CMPD caught both.
Recent surveillance shows a single male wearing a white T-shirt and black cap wandering around the aisles in the middle of the afternoon.
Suddenly, he walked briskly to the pharmacy counter.
There, he showed a pistol tucked into the waistband of his pants. He told the druggist he wanted all the Adderall, a stimulant, and all the pain killers in the store.
The pharmacist retrieved two bottles of generic Adderall and two bottles of generic Oxycodone and delivered them to the robber in a plastic bag.
Before he left, he told all three pharmacy workers to go to the back of the store and stay there.
But CMPD Detective Marty Cuthbertson says that's when events took a turn.
"He walked up the aisle and heard something about calling the police, he pulled the gun out and threatened to shoot one of them."
At this point on the surveillance, we were able to see more of his face. He's described as a white man with a small beard, about 6' 0" tall and medium build.
After seeing the gun, employees were too frightened to see which way he left the building.
